Openness!

Today's OneWord is "Openness"

Lord, You are our Father. You are the one who has always saved us. We will praise You for everything You have done for us. We will praise You for the many marvelous things You have given us and for Your goodness. We are Your servants, and we will shout for joy because of Your goodness. We love You. Amen.

We know all relationships are built on trust. Trust is the link between two individuals in a relationship. The stronger the link, the more strength used to pulled the chain. We can have forgiveness and love, but if there is no trust, it will kill the relationship.

God created us to be social creatures, thus needing fellowship. We are to have relationships with one another and with Him. We are to become trustworthy people that others feel free to share openly with us. "We cannot fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness; we lie and do not practice the truth. However, if we walk in the light as He Himself is the light, we have fellowship with one another" (1 John 1:6-7).

When you trust someone, you are open and transparent with each other. God has created us to be free and open with no hidden agendas. However, many people walk around in shame. Shame is one of the most damaging powers in a relationship because it causes us to be secretive or guarded. When you start a relationship from this perspective, it is not built on the right foundation. Shame is the result of us doing things that we know are wrong. We stay in the dark and let this bondage hold us captive. When we do this, it causes us to want to hide. This destroys our personalities and our capacity.

Today if we have, things that are hidden ask Him to uncover and help us to get free and open. If we are afraid to have it brought to light, this is deception and can only exist in darkness. We should check our relationships and environments for secret clubs, secret organizations, secret relationships, secrets agendas, and hidden motives. Such relationships or plans are not light, but deception or they would not have to be kept confidential. Take the Sword of God's Word and cut ourselves loose from bondage of generational strongholds and ungodly character defects. Renounce all relationships dishonoring to the Lord and ask Him to lead us to openness.

God give us hope so that we can get open in spirit and honesty with one another. We love You and know that Your Word keeps us in right fellowship.
