Today's OneWord is "Redirection"

Today's OneWord is "Redirection"

God, we declare,  "Let the earth fear You. Let all who live in the world stand in awe of You. You spoke, and it came into being. You gave the order, and there it stood. You block the plans of nations. You frustrate the schemes of the people of the world. Your plan stands firm forever. Your thoughts stand firm in every generation. We are blessed because our Elohim is God. We are blessed because You have chosen us as Your own" (Psalm 33:8-12).

We come to the throne room of "Focus" this morning.

Sometimes in life, we have to be open to a radical redirection of things in our lives. We must look at where we have been, where we are presently, and where are we going. Life responds to how we respond to life's circumstances and situations. Often times, we are all trying to figure out how to put the pieces of the puzzles together. When we finally decide to open the box to the puzzle, we notice that many of our pieces are scattered, lost, misplaced, or do not know where it fits.

As we begin to grab once piece of the puzzle, we get upset at everything that this piece of the puzzle represents. We go on a life long quest trying to figure out what is causing this piece to keep us so steeped in drama. We began to evaluate our pain, and decide based off emotions what should we do. We gather many attention blockers in our path and start our pursuit to help others. Because after all, we know what solutions would work for ourselves. Right?

Fixing and focusing on others is not our responsibility. Our responsibility is focus on our own emotions instead of everyone else. We cannot focus on others and assume what they want when we have not taken the time to see what we need to survive. However, we can take ownership for what roles we play in our own lives. What we do not realize is that when we focus on trying to fix others first, we are choosing the wrong stuff to evaluate our life's perspective.

A vital action of redirection needs to be implemented. We need to care for ourselves first and get rid of all the attention blockers. It is like when you are on the airplane and the flight attendant tells us in case of an emergency put on your oxygen mask first before helping others. If we do not care for ourselves first, we cannot give others what they need. This redirection will help eliminate others from bringing chaos into our lives, which pulls us away from our priorities.

Today, decide you will not be a victim. Redirect your focus and choose the right stuff. Sometimes, we have to take a soft cloth and clean the lens of our glasses by becoming a person of truth, getting positive people in our lives, evaluating our thoughts, setting boundaries, and not trying to fix others first.
